Impact podcast: EENCE activists will teach the methods of the countering propaganda and the development of critical thinking
Six projects have become the winners of the Citizenship Education Ideas Competition held this spring.
We asked coordinators of these projects to tell us about their content.
Our first person – Serhiy Shturkhetskyy, journalist, lecturer, chairman of the Independent Media Trade Union of Ukraine.
Serhiy, what is the relevance of project idea you are planning to implement?
State propaganda in RF became one of the instruments of aggressive warfare. That’s why skills of critical thinking and countering propaganda should be distributed for civil society in the Eastern Partnership countries.
What will be organized in the frame of your project?
We will create and publish podcasts on the topic of media literacy in order to make sociaty in our countrues more informed and interested.
We are planning to work mostly for the people of middle age – groupМы собираемся работать прежде всего для граждан среднего возраста – group that is often misinformed.
We will be working in few languages to cover audience as much as possible, especially in the countries which met information aggression.
Open format of the project gives experts opportunity to cooperate and lets the audience of the podcasts to participate in content creation.
Platform of online radio which we are planning to create, will be available in 24/7 format in order to provide the information continuously.
Please tell us about project team
Project is open to everyone. Every interested person will be able to choose one or another role in the project.
But team core consists of our experts – Manon Bokuchava (Georgia), Valery Ruselik (Belarus), Victor Ursu (Moldova), Dr. Tetiana Kuznetsova (Ukraine), Dr. Galina Gandzievska (Ukraine).
What results of the project you will be satisfied with?
We are planning to create 20 podcasts that will be listened by not less than 10 thousands people in Eastern Partnership countires.
More than 20 experts from 4 countries will take part in their development.
Also we are planning to organize education for those who would like to learn how to record their own podcasts. We hope that 40 people will take part in such training. Every participant will get mentor’s support by the experts of our project.
