Eduthon winners in Azerbaijan prepare a book “Pedagogy of Citizenship Education”
To develop people’s knowledge, skills and aptitudes and encourage their use in civic action to create a just, peaceful and democratic society, to form the concept of citizenship education in the education system from an early age. This was the goal set by the team of one of the projects that won at Eduthon in Baku.
More than 20 people took part in the presentation of the future publication, which was held in the capital of the country.
The book “Pedagogy of Citizenship Education” aims to develop in-depth knowledge, practical skills and personal dispositions conducive to active participation in civic life in order to build a just, peaceful and democratic society. This work is designed to develop in people a sense of responsibility and a desire for conscious action for the benefit of society. The main purpose of the book is to encourage readers to actively use civic knowledge and skills in everyday life.
The book is primarily addressed to teachers and trainers who teach citizenship education in schools or other educational institutions.
The book will describe the main goals and objectives of civic education, methods and approaches to teaching, provide useful materials and references.
The activities of the winning Eduthon projects are implemented by the East European Association for Civic Education with the support of the Federal Agency for Civic Education (bpb) with funds from the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Adult Education Association of Azerbaijan coordinates the Eduthon in Azerbaijan.
