“Impact Podcast”: An Exciting Opportunity to Dive into Media Literacy and Counteract Propaganda!
The mission of the Impact Podcast project, which was one of the winners of the EENCE ideas competition, is to promote knowledge and tools for recognizing propaganda to help increase media literacy and create your own podcast under the guidance of experienced professionals.
The first open meeting of experts and project participants took place on August 21.
The topic was mental borders with the Russian Federation.
Reflections on this topic were modeled by editor Natalka Zubar (Ukraine).
Three more sessions will begin at 20:00 Kiev time (EET) on the Zoom platform on Aug. 22, 23 and 24.
Here are their topics:
Russian Propaganda – From Myths to IPSO: Get insights from fact-checker Alexander Gorokhovsky (Session in Russian with simultaneous translation to English).
Essentials of Information & Digital Security: Dive deep with Andrey Yurychko, a reputed editor and lecturer (Session in English with simultaneous translation to Russian).
Building Resilience against Informational Threats: Learn from the expertise of psychology professor Galina Gandzilevska (Session in Ukrainian with simultaneous translation to English).

Organizers recommend using aliases and VPNs when participating in sessions.
A total of 12 training sessions on media literacy and countering propaganda will take place in August through September.
This will be followed by training on creating podcasts.
Successful participants will be invited to create and publish their own podcast on media literacy under the mentorship of experienced bloggers and experts.
The project is implemented by the Independent Media Trade Union of Ukraine within the framework of the East European Network for Citizenship Education (EENCE) Ideas Contest for Citizenship Education with the support of the Federal Agency for Citizenship Education (bpb) with funds from the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
