What will Eduthon look like?
Participation in each Eduthon (2 working days) will be attended by ten teams selected on a competitive basis (2 people in each team), which will submit ideas for educational, informational, cultural and other projects in the field of citizenship education.
Teams selected to participate in Eduthon may include NGO and community activists, teachers, students, artists, and others who want to promote citizenship education and democracy in their communities and countries.
In Poland, displaced people from Ukraine and Belarus can become Eduthon participants.
During the Eduthon, international experts will help teams refine their project concepts, plan their promotion, and prepare educational and other events methodologically.
Different Eduthon events will discuss the essence of citizenship education and various strategies for promoting it in the region.
Based on the results of each Eduthon, three winners will be selected, who will receive financial support for implementing their projects in their communities (September-October 2024).
Selected teams will hold at least 18 events in their countries (training, film screenings, art events, quizzes, discussions, etc.).
What ideas and formats can I submit to Eduthon?
We do not limit you in the formats of your events! You can submit ideas for trainings, film screenings, art activities, quizzes, discussions, etc.
The main thing is that your idea should clearly demonstrate a contribution to the promotion of citizenship education and democracy in your community and in our country as a whole.
Your ideas can be aimed at:
– Increasing the number of people (including youth, women and socially vulnerable groups) who are actively involved in their country and their communities
– Improving people’s awareness of opportunities for participation in society
– Drawing society’s attention to issues important for its development
– Promoting democratic values (human rights, justice, equality, rule of law, etc.).
– Supporting and strengthening grass-roots civic initiatives
– Developing media literacy and countering propaganda and fakes
– Increasing access to citizenship education
– Cooperation between local democratic organisations and initiatives.
Priority in the selection process will be given to non-standard and innovative ideas that involve young people and other target groups, broad awareness of the progress and results of the planned activities, and the possibility of multiplication of the proposed activities.
