EENCE-Dialogue: the beginning has been made!
The webinar “Peacebuilding and Education for Sustainable Peace in Eastern Europe” took place on September 5 as part of the new EENCE project. This was the first event of the EENCE-Dialogue, aimed at facilitating the exchange of experience between Network members and practitioners from EU countries.
About 30 participants from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Moldova, Georgia, Germany, Greece and Ukraine interested in peacebuilding and education took part.
The experts were Maria Giannakaki, Counselor at the European External Action Service, Svetlana Suveika, Professor at the University of Regensburg, and Christos Petrakos, Lawyer and Legal Expert at the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions.
In the first part of the webinar, the experts highlighted important aspects of peacebuilding and education for sustainable peace from political, social, legal and educational perspectives.
In the second part, the experts answered the participants’ questions, in particular pragmatic aspects concerning the actual implementation of sustainable peacebuilding and education for sustainable peace programs and projects in Europe.
Participants then continued their activities in three working groups, coordinated by each expert, where they addressed specific case studies on the topic of the webinar: Cyprus, the Balkans and the current situation in Ukraine.
The webinar concluded with a session of conclusions, evaluation and follow-up.
The next webinar in the project will take place on September 26.
