EENCE: planning priorities
To keep the Network functioning as a regional platform for supporting civil society advocates based on the principles of solidarity, co-operation and sustainable partnership.
This is how the participants of the planning meeting, which took place in Germany in early April, formulated the goal of EENCE’s activities in the near future.
The meeting was attended by members of the Network’s Board and Revision Committee, as well as partners from the German Federal Agency for Citizenship Education (BpB).
The meeting analysed the Network’s weaknesses and strengths, external opportunities and threats, and agreed on a vision of the goals and priorities of the Network and the values on which EENCE’s work is based.
Proposed areas of work for the EENCE Network
- Supporting citizenship educators and developing their capacity.
- Ensuring the sustainability of the network through strategic planning, role allocation and institutional development.
- Develop co-operation and exchange between network members, including cross-country initiatives.
- Increasing the visibility of the network and its products in the EU and the Eastern Partnership region.
- Working with key themes: democracy in disadvantaged contexts, migration, security, inclusion.
- Developing working methods of providers and sustainable activities.
- Advocacy and promotion of civil society values.
- Co-operation with key partners: network members, EU donors, experts, NGOs, political platforms.
- Advocating for network members in difficult contexts through support, exchange of experiences and solidarity.
- Professionalisation and institutionalisation of activities within the network.
The developments of the meeting will soon become available for comments and additions by other Network members. It is planned to prepare a Network Development Strategy based on them, which will be presented at the General Meeting in autumn.
