Tell a story about civic education and win valuable prizes!
EENCE Working Group “Civic Education in Formal Education” invites schoolchildren and students to tell a story from their lives related to any of the topics of civic education.
For example:
– individuality and identity;
– human rights, civil liberties and equality;
– (dez)information and mass media;social and environmental justice;
– activism and thematic campaigns in civil society;
– peace on Earth, international security and cooperation;
– other topics from your life related to self-awareness of citizens.
Describe how you and/or your friends, based on relevant knowledge and values, coped with the problems that arose during your studies and in your free time.
It should be a real-life story (up to 400 words) with a bright title, signed with your real name and consisting of three sections: “Situation”, “My approach” and “Conclusions”.
In the “Situation” section, describe what problem, conflict or dilemma you and/or your friends are facing.
In the “My Approach” section, explain what you have done or what you consider it necessary to do in this situation.
In the “Conclusions” section, summarize your story; tell us how it ended, what is its moral; show the results and consequences of your approach in the overall picture of the world.
For example, it can be a story about how you showed civic courage, spoke out against bullying and discrimination, expressed your opinion and defended your own point of view – even if it was unpopular to do so – or when you showed yourself to be truly active and attentive citizens.
If desired, the story can be supplemented with a drawing or other illustration.
The deadline for accepting works is October 31, 2021.
