Formation of inclusive competence among university students in Azerbaijan

Expected results of the Program

An inclusive culture is a key driver of sustainable inclusive development. The implementation of inclusive education at all levels of the education system in our country is the main component of successful socialization, full participation in society, full adaptation and development of people (both with disabilities and with development standards) in various fields. However, in order for inclusive education to fulfill its role in society, it is necessary to build special relationships based on the values and norms of an inclusive culture between all participants in inclusive education. The formation of an inclusive culture is one of the pressing problems in the process of improving inclusive education.
This course will lead to the formation of an inclusive culture among young people receiving higher education in the educational process; acquiring skills in psychological and pedagogical assistance and support for persons with disabilities and other vulnerable groups of the population during the educational process; create barrier-free infrastructure on a large scale.
An inclusive culture will be seen as a process of accepting values, respect, diversity, tolerance of differences, acceptance of cooperation, support and encouragement of the achievements of each individual.
The main goal of the “Inclusive Society” Course is currently determined by the lack of knowledge of people, the lack of scientific and methodological support for the development of inclusive processes in society and education.
Main objectives of the course:
• To provide an inclusive life experience to all students at home and abroad without any discrimination;
• Improving and implementing conditions aimed at equal treatment of all people, acquiring knowledge in this area;
• Promote the principles of an inclusive society;
• Studying methods of organizing inclusive education in educational institutions;
• Explore ways to provide an enabling environment for people with disabilities, consistent with organizational design, in inclusive workplaces;
• Exploring the idea and practice of creating equal and equal living conditions for people with differences in public and private spaces, as for all people;
• Inculcate habits of philanthropy and volunteering.
This course uses a variety of teaching and learning methods, such as lectures, interactive discussions, team projects, and small group work.
In addition, in the process of teaching and learning, special attention will be paid to the analysis, discussion and logical conclusions of articles, real examples and special cases taken from foreign and domestic literature, as well as international and local media (Internet resources). Students will solve tasks selected on the topic in order to develop skills in applying the acquired knowledge.
After completing the “Inclusive Society” course, the student has the following competencies and skills:
• The ability to rationally choose and implement a student-oriented and individually analytically oriented educational environment for persons with disabilities;
• Ability to plan, organize and develop own activities in an inclusive environment;
• Providing an inclusive environment for the successful socialization of persons with disabilities, methodological support and training, the opportunity to work in the field of healthcare and social protection;
• Ability to communicate with families of people with disabilities;
• Possibility of cooperation with government agencies in order to provide psychological and pedagogical support to people with disabilities in their socialization and labor process.
• Charity and volunteering skills.

Expected results of the Program

Formation of skills among young people to ensure an inclusive environment for the successful socialization of persons with disabilities, to develop the ability of students to plan, organize and develop activities in an inclusive environment
