Expected results of the Program

Introductory round table “Understanding Instructional Design in Civic Education.”
Main points of discussion:
– What is civic education and why is it needed;
– What is instructional design and how can it help;
– Discussion of examples of successful and unsuccessful civic education practices.

Meeting/Module 1: The role of the instructional designer in curriculum design.
Main points of the module:
– What is training and how people learn;
– The difference between the role of an educational designer and a teacher, methodologist, trainer;
– Instructional design process based on the IDDE model.

Meeting/Module 2: Formulating learning objectives for a civic education program.
Main points of the module:
– What results can a civic education curriculum achieve;
– How to write learning tasks: approaches of B. Bloom, R. Mayger, R. Gagne;
– What target group do I work with in civic education?

Meeting/module 3: Frontal analysis.
Main points of the module:
– What is frontal analysis and why is it needed;
– Technology for studying the needs of the target group?
– How to make an online survey and conduct an online focus group with your target audience and process the data obtained.

Meeting/Module 4: Curriculum Design and Development.
Main points of the module:
– How to develop a curriculum design and select content for its implementation;
– How to correlate educational tasks, practical tasks and methods of testing knowledge and what does reverse design have to do with it;
– How to choose the format and methods of work for provision.

Final round table “How to help our target groups develop civic competencies.
Main points of discussion:
– What are civic competencies and why human behavior is important in them;
– Presentation and discussion of preliminary results of focus group studies conducted by participants during the online course;
– Discussion of further cooperation between graduates and alumni of the online course within the EENCE network.

Expected results of the Program

Assist in building the capacity of teachers, educators, methodologists, trainers and facilitators to develop innovative, quality civic education curricula based on technology and instructional design principles.
